Problem on 91 caprice! Help Quick!

okay, last week i was driving down the road and my radio shuts off. i assumed it was the wiring in the back of the radio, something had come unhooked or something. well i was wrong.i checked it all and it was okay. the number 2 fuse, i think, (the one that controls radio, trunk release, door bells, etc) blew, and i cant put a new one in it without it instantly blowing. im assuming my ground has come loose, im just not sure where to find it. if the ground is my problem, then could someone tell me exactly where it is?

It won't be a ground, it's a direct short in something. This you will have to troubleshoot - disconnect all of the items the fuse runs and then plug them back in one at a time until the fuse blows. The last one you plug in when the fuse blows will be the culprit. It's also possible that a wire got pinched and is shorting against the car body.

Yeah i agree with you there it coudln't be a ground because in the likly event that it was a ground alot more would have went out, but that's just my theory. I had a bad ground in my 94 gmc sierra and i lost power every time i would back up or acl hard so i dont think that isy our problem, get a voltage tester and test teh voltage of where the fuse is located then ask aroudn and see what shops say bout befor you actually make a move on the problem and miss somthing.

If your blowing a fuse, its a short. If you had a loose ground, the device would not function; but, you would not blow the fuse. Something in the circuit is shorting and causing your device/devices to draw too many amps.
