1988 caprice classic brougham ls.v8 305 4 bbl.
hey evrybody im thinkin about puttin dual exhausts on my caprice cuz it just aint loud enough and my cat converter is messin up because i think its the origional one haha. so ive tried lookin around and i dont know much about exhaust systems and how big a' round i need the pipe and all that and if i can get a whole system w/o the cat for a nice price.i only got about 300 to spend so if yall could work with that it would help thank u very much.

If you wnat true duals 300 wont get you too far, if you wnat sound for that price just get a new cat and maybee a flowmaster and cut the tailpipe from the muffler.

yeah, 300 isn't going to get you duals. I got cat-back with a flowmaster knock-off for 300. My mechanic quoted me about 6-700 for duals with a Y pipe & dual flowmasters and about a grand for true duals with headers.

You can always find a junkyard that has a '94-'96 LT1-powered B-body and grab the duals off of it. You might have to modify the exhaust manifold flanges to interface with the older "log" manifolds, but it's a true dual that will bolt into your car and is legal. And far less than $1G. You will likely have to plug the EGO sensor ports behind the cats if the donor was an OBDII car ('96).
