2000 passat wet floor board

Hello,
I 'm all wet.
My back passenger floorboard is soakin wet.
Is there a drain plug clogged?
I cannot see where the rain(it has beeen raining lately)
is leaking down. The floor board is wet but the walls
are dry. Any thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated

Check for clogged sunroof drains and pollen filter housing seal. Front sunroof drains drain right at the front door hinges and rears drain right behind the rear wheels. Open the sunroof and slowly pour a cup of water into the roof channel at each corner and look for water draining from each respective corner of the car. Regardless, a good idea is to snip the ends of the drains at all 4 corners. They're crimpped flat and sometimes stick together. Snip the flat end - about an inch - off. The rears are a little harder to get to, being located behind the bumper. Open the hood and pour water around the pollen filter housing,located on the passenger side of the engine compartment in the cowl. If it leaks, pull the housing and replace the seal.

This is my first forum, I think I'm actually asking this question in the reply section (sorry, can't find where to ask a new question) Anyway, just bought a used 1999 VW Passat and water is leaking from somewhere, I think it's the sunroof, the water is pooling up in driver side rear floor board. I have seen posts regarding this issue and the suggestion was to clean out the drain plugs. I wish the pool of water was the only problom. Driving to work one morning I noticed the water sloshing around in the back floor board, then my locks started clicking & popping all the way to work. I got the excess water out of the floor, but when I got ready to go to lunch my car would not even start!!!!:banghead: I jumped the battery off, it stared, when I turned the car off it would not start again without being jumped. I bought a new battery ($80.00) it crunk right up, went to town, came out of the store and it would not crank. Normally my first thought would have been, the starter or alternator but since the water immediatly effected my locks the first day I noticed the water, I have came to the conclusion that maybe water has shorted out wires under my seat and carpet. But what wire could possibly be effected that would keep the car from starting?

It could very well be some wires under the seat as you described, if so I'm not much help to you. But, did you check that all of your relays are tight? I have a 99 passat turbo wagon that on occasion will have a couple relays work loose and keep the car from starting. They are located behind the circuit breaker pannel on the drivers side. Good luck.
