Right Front Tire Feathering On Inside

I just gave the first rotation to a new set of tires and notice that the right front tire has feathered a little on the inside. Not "too" bad, but enough to get my attention. All other tires normal. Steering normal. No curbs or anything like that.
Front end allignment problem or do you think a suspension/steering part is worn?
BTW. That wheels lower ball joint has a torn greese boot, but I keep it pumped up often.

You mightwant to get a front end alignment done.Get the front end checked first for worn suspension parts and get a second opinion.Some like to replace parts that they say are bad and they are wrong sometimes.I know this part,one place likes to replace balljoints that are not bad.

Exactly what I been thinking. I am trying to arm myself before taking it in. All to often, one has work done on the suspension and it turns out that it just needed an alignment or visa-versa. Wa'la double bill.

since its just the right side, i would place my bets on a alignment. that would be the side that gets rub when parking on the street with a curb.

If it's never been aligned before, prepare yourself for the cost of removing the knock out plugs to access the adjustments...........Steve

Cheapest first try would be to get an alignment and see if it does it again. Also I would just give a quick check over of your front end. Bad pitman arm or idler arm can cause some looseness and causes feathering. I would go with alignment being the cause first but you can never be sure with these WONDERFULLY CRAFTED GMs!!!!!

Here is the link that talks about the last 10-15 years worth of Chevy trucks and thier suspensions. Start with the second to last paragraph. It says 2000 and up now have a plastic cover now that requires little effort to remove when accessing the adjustments. The whole article is worth reading also.
