Checking To See If 2001 If Worth It?

I wanted to know how good the 2001 Explorer Models are. I have a 2003 Explorer Sport Trac and I love it. My wife's father is getting a new 2006 F-250 and is wanting to know if I wanted to pay off the 2001 Explorer XLS w/ 37,000 original miles for 4,000 dollars. He bought it brand new in 2000 and I thinking this could be a good deal. Just wanted to do some checking aorund first. Any Input would be appreciated. Thanks In Advance

Granted the XLS is the base model it is still worth $4000. hell if you chose you could buy it for $4000 and re-sale it for more than that, I say go for it!

2001 explorer is very likely to be a huge disappointment coming from your 2003 sport trac.. but dont get me wrong, my explorer has been nothing but reliable and solid, and i heard the harsh ride/noise was somewhat cured with the 2001 explorers.. so take a drive with it and if you like it, go for it.. especially with that kind of price, wow!
