My truck won't turn over, all i get when i turn the key is a solitary click and thats it. I was told it was the starter but instaling a new one did nothing. Please Help

How's the battery?
New doesn't necessarily mean good, it could still be the starter.
Are the battery cables good at both ends? Poor connections can cause a problem.
Is the solenoid separate from the starter?

My battery is fine, that was the first thing i checked. My cables could be the problem and my solenoid is not separate

Can you turn the motor by hand? Are you sure the motor is not siezed?

This may sound odd, but do you have alot off keys on the keyring with your truck's keys? If you do, the weight off the keys may have worn out the contacts inside of the ignition switch. The same thing happend to me. A mechanic friend of mine told me about the weight of the keyring. He told me to try turning the key quickly back and forth from the "on" postion to the "start" position a few times. If the starter kicks over when you do that, then it might be the ignition switch. My friend and I tested the idea. We bypassed the start wire from the ignition switch to the starter, and put in a starter button. We ran a wire from the positive terminal of the battery to the starter button, and a wire from the button to the starter. That did the trick. I mounted the button under the dash, and now I just turn the key to the "on" position, and push the button. My truck starts every time now, no problem. I know it sounds stange, but it worked for me.

When you say you checked your battery, did you check in under load? Just checking for voltage on a battery will tell you very little. What matters is what voltage it holds when the key is turned. If the voltage drops below 10vdc, then it should be replaced.

I think that I would check the cables first and foremost. Toyotas with the factory style battery terminal ends can be finicky about a connection once they get older. They are steel instead of lead. That harder metal can have a hard time sealing sometimes, which COULD result in a condition such as yours. It did in my case anyways. If that is the case, a new terminal from Toyota will run you about 5 bucks.
