stiff ride

Alright, here is the problem i have changed everyt bushing and GREASED everything but the truck is still very stiff. when i hit a bump if fells like the whole front end of the truck is rattling. and when i say rattling it is just the front end. the truck is a 97 s-10 with a 2001 front end. My dime is lowered 3 inchs and i have ground force springs on it with toxic drop shocks. can someone give me some advice please i am about to run the damn thing of in a river and walk away!!.

Is it rattling, or just feeling like it?

I'm just guessing that you used poly urathane bushings. They are better in every way except ride quality. They are just too solid for a comfortable street ride.

good call on the bushings. did you get the truck aligned? i know caster can cause a harsher ride to a degree.

Yes the truck has been aligned.

It's the bushings then, a very comon thig for people to do. Like I said they are beter in every way, except ride quality.

The 2 things that you might want to try is use a spray lube that won't damage the bushings.
Or replace a few select bushings with OEM rubber bushings.
I don't know which ones effect the ride quality the most.

just my 2 cents ,but here it goes. i owned an 87 fullsize pu with the same combo up front; 3in drop springs and toxic shocks, and had the same prob. i fixed mine by going to a 1in drop spring with 2in drop spindles. with the 3in drop springs u lose all the travel your suspension once had .........therefore they ( the manufacture) increses the spring rate so the truck wont bottom out. second prob i had was with the toxic shocks.......mine were bottoming out before the suspension was through its travel.....i fixed this by buying shocks (toxic) that were advertised to be 1in shorter (4in insted of 3in) than what i needed........................all in all it worked for me.......no more harsh ride:smokin:

Uh that is not an option, but you are right. maybe i should just bag it and quit bitchin about it

On the good side, I'l bet that it handles like it's on rails

lowering the truck made the ride worse, more stiff, no question about it, and then the added factor of poly bushings made it even worse, 2 choices, one is to put stock suspension back on (you said not an option) or two, bag it, you sound like you want it done anywayse, but that will help ride quality a LOT

Or lower tire pressure? Use soft kelvar radial tires ?

no, you dont wanna lower the tire pressure, and that goes doubble if you have low profile tires
