I'll be needing a small trailer to haul a hefty size air compressor (about 400 lbs).
Anybody have any trouble with the bolt-on ones or should I have a shop weld one on?
I don't need heavy-duty, probably just a class I right?

i don't like the ones that hook on the bumpers and yes a class 1 would probably work. we put a curtis hitch class 3 bolt on , on our 94 and i'll have to say its'; the best i've ever owned. it's been on 2 winters and the coating still is like brand new. i've had reese, uhaul and tractor supply and they all pealed the paint, but not this curtis and it was priced lower that the rest, fit was excellent, too.

A class 1 is rated to 1000lbs, so that should be all that you need.
The autowreck should have several for cheap. Including the ball.

They will all cost nearly the same regardless of class . You may as well go ahead and get the best . Bolt ons are preffered if you decide you don't want it anymore you can sell it . 2" receiver style can use a shelf for extra carrying capacity on trips . I have a fold up version from Hitch-haul. I keep it up all the time and pull my trailer like normal . Rob

I would go with a bolt on. I never did see the need to weld them on, unless you're hauling a fifth wheel or something huge and heavy - but that wouldn't be smart with an S-10 style blazer.

If someone decides to tow a 5th wheel with a Blazer let me know.
I want some pic's of the caved in roof where they mounted it.
