diagnostics mode w/ dual climate

can someone explain in more detail about the diagnostics mode w/ the dual climate control. what is this all about??

k, so i went out w/ my buddy today and tried out the diagnostics. we both thought it was pretty sweet. he has an older (95??) buick riviera he says that has dual climate as well. does anyone know if these diagnostics are allowed in other gm cars such as his or just gp's??
