Front sway bar

One of the easiest changes you can make to a 124 body Mercedes is the replacement of the front sway bar. If you would like tighter control and better cornering from your car's suspension, you can replace the front sway bar with the one from the Mercedes "Sport" package. It is slightly larger in diameter, and along with the four new bushings it provides a noticeable improvement in the car's handling. P.

I think there were several different front sway bars used on 124s. I believe my 89 300CE uses the thicker bar from the 400E, which may be the same size as the "sport" version, and I understand that the 500E has an even thicker one.

I also believe any one of them can be installed in any model 124.

I haven't spent much time in a 124 sedan, so I can't really say how noticeable the 400E sway bar is on my coupe.

The sway bars included in the "sport" option for the sedan are the o.e. bars used on the CE and the convertible. The V8 sedans use different bars because of their increased weight. I recently saw the pdf file for all MB sway bars and was surprised at the number of sway bars available. P.
