I have a 92 Integra LS and I have spent the past month or so installing a new clutch and flywheel and a few other misc. things along the way. I finally got all the pieces needed put together tonight and was very excited to get it started it take it for a test drive.
Unfortunately, the car won't start. It cranks like it's about to start but just won't turn over. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. I will have to go over everything tomorrow for a third time to make sure everything is put back correctly. I was hoping someone could point me to some direction to make my troubleshooting a bit easier.
Again, the engine cranks but won't turn over. What could I have missed? This is my first time doing this so I might have had forgotten something but I went step by step with the HELMS and I thought I got everything. Please help. Thanks!

Thanks tran_nsx. My bike's in hibernation for the winter so I'm concentrating on my car for now. But yeah, I'm going to need the luck to get this car going...or some really good help from someone in here. Anyone have any tips for me? Thanks.

first thing is check and see if you have spark and fuel.. since you didnt mess with anything fuel related check the spark... maybe you accidently unhooked a ground or something somewhere

i'm assuming the cranking speed is normal? if not i would check the battery and also check for spark as ridge runner said

Yes, the cranking speed sounds normal...although it does slow down after 3-4 seconds. I did do a test on the battery and it tested 12.0v. I'm researching on how to check for spark now. If anyone would like to post up a "how to check spark" here, that would be great.

if its only reading 12 volts it could more than likely be bad. A good battery will test anywhere from 12.6-13. sometimes more.

To check for spark unplug a spark plug wire where it meets your distributor, have someone crank the engine while you hold the plug wire right next to where you unpluged it. You should see the electrical arch jumping from the distributor to the plug and/or hear it clicking.
To check for fuel, if you have a fuel filter mounted in your engine like the picture below, just have someone crank the engine and slowly turn the nut on top of the fuel filter, no fuel comes out you got no pump pressure.

Thanks for the examples. I will try it tonight.

Finally got a chance to try the wire/distributor test TurboGSR96 said and I saw sparks. So I'm guessing the distributor is not the problem? What else should I check?

did you crack the fuel fitler also? if not look for your fuel injectors...follow the rail that they are mounted to until you find the actual line. Then follow that until you find the filter and crack the nut to see if you got pressure, if it has fuel then im gonna say its the sensor that keeps your car starting without the clutch disengaged. I had my friend take it off my car so I can start it without pushing the clutch (DO NOT GET AUTO START...I DID IT AND RUINED AN INTERCOOLER BECAUSE OF IT). I'm pretty sure you did the work yourself so if I was you I would get under the car if you have not allready and just check everything out. Look under your dash at the clutch pedal and see if all the wires look like they are where they are asposed to be. If it still dont work let me know ill give you an underdash shot if you need help finding the sensor.

Cracked the fuel filter and fuel squirted out. Looks like I have fuel. I even tried to jump it and that didn't do much. I have checked and rechecked everything I touched and yes, I did do the work myself.
Just wondering...why would I need to check out under the dash if I didn't even touch anything under there. And where is this sensor you're talking about?

As you probably allready know, you cant start your car without pushing in the clutch....there is a sensor that reads this and keeps the car from starting. I dont remember where but somewhere either at the top of you clutch pedal or near/on your tranny there has to be a sensor to tell the engine if the clutch pedal is depressed. I dont know much about your model year so I dont think I can be much more help.

^^^ the car doesn't even crank if the clutch pedal isn't down due to that feature but he says the car is cranking

Well thanks for trying TurboGSR96. I might have to call a mechanic if I can't figure it out soon. I'm still waiting for my brother in law to get better so that he can come over to my place and help me troubleshoot. If he can't figure it out, to the shop it goes. Just kinda disappointed that I wasn't able to go from beginning to start without paying for labor. Oh well, maybe it'll go better next time.
BTW, did you just recently crash your Type-R? I just noticed you changed the pic on your avatar.
Oh, and if anyone else has any suggestions, feel free to give them to me. Thanks!

its almost certainly just a ground wire you forgot to remount while you were putting the trans back in. Just look aorund the engine compartment, they frequently bolt right on with the trans mount bolts

Thanks for the tip. I'll quadruple check everything tonight and make sure that the ground has good connection with metal.

check ingnitor control module and the ingnition coil, mine sounded like would start but those two things kept it from starting
