i know people recommend these and they say it requires the springs/retainers but would I still need them if I wasnt going to rev any higher than the stock redline?

i'm assuming those are cams and if that is the case look on crowers website and it will tell you if they are compatible with oem valvetrain.

oo yea i already checked that it says it requires the springs/retainers but i was just wondering if it was for the stock rev limit or higher revving...cause the springs/retainers are kinda expensive

the cam will be ok for a very high rpm or stock rev limit, I run my stock GSR cams to 9k without a problem, its the stock springs/retainers/locks etc. that can't keep up with the extra rpm. Actually crower has pretty reasonable priced springs/valve/retainers compared to what I paid for my stuff.

so would it be ok to put in those stage 2 cams without any valvetrain upgrade and not rev any higher than i would if my car was stock?

I'm gonna say no because even though you are not going past the factory rev-limit, it specifically says that the spring/retainers are required. Remember you also have to buy valves in most cases and valve locks, valve seals, seat locators and sometimes guides. it add's up.
