I should be getting a sorta hefty chunk of change in my pocket after taxes (around $170 im hoping. for someone my age who can only work summers that is pretty nice) Im going to buy myself a full tank of gas and the rest will go into my truck. Im either going to buy some Exaust tubing and break out the welder and fab up an intake or im going to buy some dampening.
Thing is i wont be able to apply it untill i take out my enclosure. I am planning on building a new enclosure for my 18 to give me a little more seat room and to have it more easily (and properly) secured to the floor. I will also be installing an amp for my componets. so i figured while the enlcosure is out i may as well dampen the rear panel of the cab (what rattles the most) i will also be spraying that interior panel with rubberized coating to lower its resonance some.
I'll also be doing my doors which is why im not going to hold off. My question is (n00Bx's dont chime in) what brand and material would be best? Paint on or Mat and fro mwhat companies? I have maybe 25sqft to cover and i think mat would be best on the doors. Even do a few layrs of the spray stuff from a can.
Im Mainly looking for answears from Noah, Paul, SR20, Manny, Jet, Etc...

I'd go with at least a layer of damplifier on each of the doors...making sure to cover up all the holes and such. Then put at least 1 layer of spectrum on the doors as well. I would then put 2-3 layers on the rear wall and side panels.
You're prolly looking at around 40sq. ft. of damplifier and 2 gallons of spectrum...
As you can tell, yes...I would get second skin. Don't forget to use the forum member 20% discount ;).

sweet. I was thinking about chipping in with a buddy or two for a 5gal bucket of spectrum and then doing 1 layre of damplifier all over. i may go ahead and save some and do the foor under my enclsorue and up the firewall. I get no rattles form the roof and it barely vibrates so im not worried up there....if only there was a way to dampen my back window w/o adding ugly bracing :-/

Yeah, that's what I thought too...about the roof. But then I put two layers of mat on it...and WOW.
Top areas I recommend:
Back wall
Ext. Cab. Side panels (outer skin and inner skin)
Seal off Doors
Roof
I wouldn't worry about the floor, or firewall. So, if you get 40 sq. ft. of mat, and chip in together on a 5gallon of spectrum. You'd be set...keep around 3 gallons for yourself.
