Okay guys, I've read that a lot of you HAVE Sirius. And I know that a lot of you really like Howard Stern (a Sirius only kinda guy).
I am thinking of getting either an XM or Sirius system. What I want to know is which you guys thisk is best, and why.
This is probably going to start all kinds of crap between hardliners on either side :evillol: , and that may be kind of fun to watch:devil: . However, I am looking for why either is better than the other.
Let's let it loose...

I got Sirius when I found out that Bubba The Love Sponge was going to be on Howard 101. I've been happy with the entire service.

What are some of the other channels you listen to? Or did you get it primarily to listen to HS??

I have XM becasue i have had it since almost 2 years ago, when i moved to Iowa from florida where there are no latin channels and even the regular radio channels are kind of lame, i have no complaints mostly listen to the latin, rock, classical and comedy(helps keep me awake on long trips) channels

I sell and install both, and I prefer Sirius. Sirius has NFL football, SEC football, and a better selection of music to suit my tastes. It's all personal preference though.

I am a XM fan myself. Have had it for about two years now and love it. I find the playlists on XM are quite a bit deeper then on Sirius. I have friends with Sirius so I hear it alot..and I hear alot of the same songs all the time.
I am a nightclub DJ and spin alot of dance and hiphop and I by far prefer the EDM and Hiphop stations on XM to the stations on Sirius.
As stated though, it is really a personal taste issue. Look through the cahnnel lineups..see what fits your style.

the place that i work at, We also sell and install both, The actuall intstall is the same on xm and sirius, It really comes down to ur preferance during the holiday it was 12 sirius to every 1 xm unit. I personally like sirius due to its rock, punk and hip hop stations. Sirius has HS, XM has Opey and anthony, diff sports slection between the two. U can demo them on there website also

I apreciate all the feed back, folks. Signed up yesterday for the free trial (3 days) of XM online. When that is through I will try Sirius for their trial.
Thanks again.

Ya'll too huh? Two years ago XM was definitely bigger, but the tide has turned these days. Sirius outsells XM by far for us lately, going back deep into last year at the least.

Like they said, it's all a matter of personal preference. I have Sirius, and it is awesome! Not only do they have a wider variety of music channels, but all the entertainment channels are great too. For the guys, it's sports galore, and for all the race fans, they are getting or now have a contract with NASCAR (I'm not sure which one it is). But, all in all, I like Sirius better than XM.

I am going to Sirius soon as well. Mostly for the football (I am a Colts fan:crying: living in IL so I dont get any of their games) but also for the new nascar package and the Metal station

Sirius....Better play lists, more personality from the dj's, Stern, good talk radio (unfortunatly Fox news is no longer with sirius), exclusive NFL, etc...

UPDATE:
I tried the XM for three days on the web. I liked what I found - good depth to the playlists (really liked "Deep Tracks"), some interesting talkshows (why do people keep talking about bigfoot and ufo's? ), and I noticed they had MLB (Go Red Sox!!!).
Just finished the three days free on Sirius. Very similar formats, similar - but not quite as deep - playlists on the stations, NFL is okay - but I'm a bigger baseball fan.
The biggest thing that I liked about Sirius was they have a one year contract that gives you a pretty good rate, XM requires you to sign up for at least two years to get a comparable rate - I'm a little bit of a commitment phobe, just ask my girlfriend:screwy: .
I still haven't made my decision, but I'm getting close :banghead:.
Thanks for the input everyone.

Wouldn't that be a reason to stay away from XM? :grinyes:

Which one will The Jim Rome show be on? XM or Sirius?

billibong

Not a big fan of Oprah.... or any of her "lackeys".
I have heard that Jim Rome is going to be on XM, but his website doesn't give any indication that he is going to either one.
