The amount of horsepower varies with each different kind of aftermarket part that you put on your car. Aftermarket drive pulleys lighten the load on the engine, and assist in the creation of more power. Most underdrive pulleys that are available give a 10+ HP gain. In order to find out the information that you're craving, you'll need to do a bit of research on different brands, and different types of aftermarket parts. Best of luck to you, man.

Try doing a thread search on preformance upgrades, I know that there are many of them out on the Grand Am Forum. You can get many ideas on where to start, Like mentiones on previous post you will pick up a little HP with each up-grade you install. Things like a cold air intake, and drive pulleys and exhaust modifications will all add a different amount of Horse Power. Even a tire up-grade can help if your going to run against the Hondas. You can even up-grade via the computer with the plug-in code reader/programer.
Even though there are not a lot of published up-grades and advertisements, up-grades can be found for the GA's And there are many members on the forum have added things to their cars and are usually more than happy to tell their secrets.
Good luck.

Try the Thread at the top of the Grand Am page on the listing of OEM and Preformance parts. It offers a lot of links for part sources.
