aftermarket stereo in 97 deville?

What is the best way to install an aftermarket stereo into 1997 Cad Deville? I have heard that it is tricky becuz the computer is connected to the factory radio. Also,, that you may have to hide the factory in the trunk so the computer still thinks the factory radio is there,,, you have to rewire all the speakers,, etc,,, do you know of any known solutions to this ? thankx,,, mel

I went through this with my 92 eldorado, if you have the bose gold system, nothing is compatible except bose stuff, I cried but ended up replacing complete system, as if you had bought a car without any sound system at all.
Bite the bullet!.The more you ask people, the more confusing it gets.I've been there.
