I have always gotten in my car, turned the key, it started right up. Until a couple weeks ago. Now I turn the key,let it crank awhile, pump the gas,do this about six or seven times (depending on how cold it is)and it will finally start. If it's warm weather, or if the car is warm it starts right up.Any ideas what might be wrong? And is it something I could fix myself, having a limited knowledge about mechanics

dude I have the same problem and tonight while the battery was charging, I tried cranking and my battery died very quickly and a horrible smell came from the middle area of the engine. I say middle cause I didn't have proper lighting and it was I believe my starter or solenoid or fuel injectors. Anyways I suck a mechanics and I can't be certain of what or where that smell came from...It was a really bad smell, like burnt metal or wires. Dude I'm deeply hell bound. I can't afford to have it serviced at a shop. I'm Screwed. Good luck with your bird though
