I was wondering if anyone knew if Mercedes had a coupe version of the S-600.
I may have seen one here in Hawaii, and I couldn't believe that it has a V12 engine.
If so, Does anyone know how much the coupe version cost?

Mercedes do make a coupe version of the S-Class, known as the CL-Class. I reckon it's one of the nicest cars on the road. Check it out ...

Since this car is based on the S-Class, I would avoid it like the plague. I was in an Infiniti dealership the other day when they appraised an SC55 AMG. The guy that owned it had $135,000+ in it and had less than 4000 miles on the odometer and was just a few months old. The trade in value was $85,000! In my opinion that was far too generous. The car is grossly over priced and a technoligical disaster. Since I've had so many problems with my 2001 S-430 I have made it a point to ask other S-Class owners what they think of their cars. A suprisingly high percentage have had significant problems with them. I'm not bigoted against Mercedes. I've owned or leased 8 over the past 22 years. I've had 10 times more problems than I did on ALL of my other Meredes combined. That includes 1-SD300, 1-SD350, 1-450SL, 1-300SL, 1-E420 Sport, 2-SLK 230's and an S430.

When you try to trade in a car that is only a year or two old you can expect to take a beating on the value. It makes no differance what it is. A new $285K Lamborghini loses about $50K the first year if you try to trade/sell it. The secret is to keep your car at least 3 years ( no matter it be a Toyota or Lambo) to minimize the depreciation/use factor. In the case of the Exotic cars you should plan on keeping them longer. The problem is that many owners buy on emotion/impulse and after they have lived with the car a few months or a year they try to unload them on someone else and pay for this dearly.
BTW, I have a 03 S55 AMG that has been just about perfect. One minor glitch where they had to reset the tire pressure monitor. Car is awesome with the 493 HP Supercharged AMG engine.

I have an S500 Coupe.
It's really a great car, a lot of power from the 393bhp V8 engine. Most of my friends envy me for driving that car as I'm only 17.
The only complaint I have about this car is the stares when I stop at the traffic light. lol... A lot of people complain that the 2 ton weight of this car, but I don't find it a problem, but I don't mind the car to be a little bit lighter.
Yes, the S600 has a V12 engine, and the S500 has a V8 engine.

The S-600 is an awesome car..... You guys just must be unlucky... they only manufacture the s-600 in germany...(if anyone says they make them in america ill tell them to fuck off.... cause they arnt..) they havent made many of them. the V12 is huge... i would love if someone could lay down the exact specs of it...
btw be glad the car weighs 2 tons.... the power to weight ratio would be thrown out so badly.... merc have huge power... they got a torque converter in the gearbox that munches power into top end. also ill feel safer in a heavy car that hugs the road like a squashed bug... cause i dont wanna be that bug in any other car.

The excess weight will be a problem when you want to emergency-brake at 100mph. I almost skidded off the road the other day...
The problem is when you brake, because of the huge velocity, the car will still go foward (a lot) when the four tyres are stationary. Check out my S500 Coupe post.
I saw an CL600 the other day in front of my school... Man... It's just BEAUTIFUL!!!

CL69 was just a concept. The CL65 is already powerful enough, and they say will rule each other out.

No, actually there is an internal deadline & launch date for the CL69 AMG in Europe, but it would be most unprofesional of me to disclose the dates. The CL63 AMG was the concept AMG, 18 months ago. Even then, 26 examples did find there way onto the market.
I'll work on the '94 S500 details and gat back to you ASAP. Thanx, El.
