concidering it's going to sound like crap anyways, i don't think it'll matter. just drill wherever's easiest. have you ever heard a car with a worn out muffler? it's going to sound like that, maybe worse.

Just cut the muffler off
You can do this in the following ways:
1. Get a hacksaw, cut exhaust pipe.
2. Find a large speed bump, drive 40-50mph over it, consequently knocking off your muffler. (Not to mention your wheels, shocks, and probably breaking some windows.)

Do not drill those holes, and do not cut anything off.
It is not safe to have exhaust gases venting underneath the car. This is why car exhausts go all the way to the back bumper.
The other thread was closed because the entire concept of what you suggest is obviously unsafe, unreasonable and is only going to produce an irritating result.
When I was a kid, I thought a noisy car sounded cool (for about 10 minutes)
Everyone else on the road within earshot got pissed off instantly.
Before this thread gets closed too, take my advice.
Do not do this to your muffler and think twice before re-opening a closed thread.

MagicRat is wise as always. Don't re-open this thread again. There is a reason it was closed the first time and questioning it is like spitting in the face of the school principal.
