Since no one else has started this thread and it was supposed to be done in March sometime, If the moderator would like to compile what we have so far, that would be great. Please show your support on Project Civic, it is helping me out on differnt things, as well as helping others out. Thanks. -James

yeah, i put up a post about that a couple of months ago. One of the mods said that they got too lazy for it.
I question something though- if some guy is putting up 20,000 for a civic, wouldnt he be saying something to make the project go quicker? I dunno, but if you ask me, the whole thing might have been a hoax.

if i remember when we started this nobody was actually going to do it for real it was just for fun. sort of like fantasy sports. when you have a certain amount of money and you have to accomplish something with it. i think that is what we were trying to do at the time.

a real nice "project civic" is the one on a TV show i cant remember i THINK its horsepower TV. They're budget was only $8,000 including the cost of the car. Its amazing. so far they've done:
Car
Betting ignition
nitrous
Chrome 18's
B&M short shifter
Headers
and maybe more but that have about $1000 left. if you're careful, do alot of the work yourself, and shop around you can have a very nice ride on a low budget, but then again these guys are experts...

they did more then that on the show. they put in coilovers, an intake and exhaust. but there is no way that these guys are experts when it comes to imports. they spent over $1000 alone on the intake, exhaust, and header and it got them less then 10 hp on the dyno. what kind of crap is that.

your point? many ppl think opening up the air flow will do wonders for horsepower, and it really doesn't for things like civics. for stuff like skyline, it was designed at high air flow then tuned down for japanese regulations, so big difference when opened up. maybe you're refering to what they're SUPPOSED to put out, which probably is false advertising and or at the crank (before power loss). But another thing they may not have opened the exhaust that much, but it costs just the same to redo the exhaust system. Being mostly domestic oriented, they probably aren't too hot about huge pipes that only increase airflow when you're trying to acheive low RPM torque for street racing. Same for intake. a new intake costs just the same as a high-flow one im sure but with different goals in mind.
