i have a 2001 alero. I have had tons of problems with my car. between 3 dash lights on to the ignition cylinder not turning. My boyfriend and I have figured out what was wrong with the ignition and bought a new cylinder. We just can't figure out how to get the old one out. Can anybody help?!?!?!?

You bought a new cylinder? I'm by no means a car nut but do you mean piston?

I know you mean the ignition tumbler / cylinder. The best advice is to go to the local auto parts store and pick up a Haynes or Chiltons repair manual for that car. I found one at AutoZone. They are very detailed and if you are mechanically incline at all, you will be able to repair the car. I had one auto parts dealer, O'Rielly, tell me that the manual was not available for my 2000 Alero. Obviously, that was incorrect, so be advised that the manual is available.
