First of all..buying a key part off off e bay like a turbo might not be the best idea. To me...I dont like this auction you are looking at..1st it says the evo 3 GT and than it says the evo 3. How do we honestly know what one it is or if it is either of them, they dont show you any close ups or numbers. I wouldnt trust it, you can get a 16g off turbochargers.com for like 459 i believe. The exhaust manifold said something like super turbo manifold( dont really trust that too much either). If you are gonna get a turbo off e bay, at least make sure they have close ups of the part number and good feedback. Either way, I wouldnt risk it, not a key part like a turbocharger. Good luck in whatever you decide.

Don't do it. The seller is SSAutoChrome. I read reports about their turbos being held together with glue and I had an awful experience with them. There are more success stories with people buying headers but I would not go NEAR one of their turbos.

Spend the extra bux and get one from SBR or ExtremePSI. They are only running like $550 or something. Get it ported and put together your own install kit (thats what I did). I bought all the gaskets, got a used j-pipe off a 1g, bought a SS oil line, reused my water lines from the T25 and custom fabricated my own licp using an 11" piece of exhaust tubing and the stock licp. I can give you more details if you are interested.

I personally have one of the Evo 3 GT's and I inspected it and all looked well, I have yet to install it but there are a few other members on here that have them and haven't had any problems. And I think there are more places than just ssautochrome that sells them as well. But it's really up to you on what you do. I am satisfied with my purchase but it may be different for everyone.

I posted this a while ago right after I made the mistake of ordering their turbo.

I'd say that I'm happy that I never ended up with it. I went SBR and never thought twice about putting it in.

Well I bought my 16g GT from someone other than ssautochrome. infact the only thing I ever bought from them was an o2 housing.

But the turbo I got was in perfect condition in a completely sealed foam box and it had a warranty from the company I bought it from.

So ssautochrome isn't the only one that sells those turbos, but I would agree fully that ssautochrome is very shitty company to deal with.

I'm sorry if I gave the wrong impression, and upon rereading what I've said so far I think I have. I don't know where I fall on the 16g GT turbo because I don't think the people who are using them have been using them long enough to see if they stand the test of time. I know that the MHI EvoIII16g is time/track tested and reputable. I think it would be a great thing for the DSM community to see the 16g GT succeed. I wanted assurance when buying my turbo which is why I went MHI. Some GT vendors offer a 1 year warranty that will not only replace your turbo if you have any turbo related problems, but also give you $100. The problem with that is that I'm 99% certain they will void the warranty if they find you ever upped the boost. C'mon, who's going to stay at 10psi on a EVO16g? I did that for about a day when I first put it in. Much slower than stock.

My point was not that the 16g GT is bad, it's that SS Auto Chrome is.

I completely agree.

The Evo 3 GT isn't proven yet, but I don't think it's going to be that bad.
I just decided to give the GT a shot. I just hope it doesn't bite me in the ass.
