Humm cool ... I dont suppose anyone would know but if I did get this engine could I just do away with the injection system and strap my carbs on... I guess if I could i would not have to mess around with the wiring too much ....
Or would the carbs from the 1.4 be too small ??

Actually, maybe you're right. Don't quote me, I'm just forwarding some information I found. :D
This site says that the d16a9 is mpfi, not dual carb.
http://www.carpage.tmfweb.nl/specs.htm
Can you use your exising dual carbs instead? I'm not sure, someone here should know...
You have the d14a1 engine (1.4L SOHC 2 carburetors), right?

The old 1.4L carbs will be WAY to small for a ZC. (Which is what the engine your talking about sounds like).
However there were Carb'd versions of the ZC sold in Japan, and there are webber style manifolds avliable.
The best option would be to convert your car to Fuel injection, or even sell your car and buy and injected model and swap the ZC into that.
However it would be easier (since there is simply less work) to get hold of either a carb set up from Japan or find a webber manifold in the US or Europe, and fit it with either wbbers or dellortos or similar. (just dont use Strombergs or SU's!! ;) <- joke about british cars).
