From a dead stop and during acceleration I hear an intermittent rubbing noise coming from the rear. Could this be a sign of warped rotors? Also slight rubbing noise heard coming from the rear wheels when coming to a slow rolling stop. Anyone hear of this or experience this?

Check your front U-Joint on the rear driveshaft. I just had the same problem, Changed it and noise went away.

I'll have to have that looked at. I've taken it to the be checked out re: the noise and of course they could not duplicate the problem. The noise is intermittent, will make a howling/rubbing noise for a second or two and go away as you accelerate through it and then may reappear as you gain speed but go away after a second and not appear at all while you are cruising. I really appreciate your reply. Thanks alot.

Funny you should ask. I just got back from the dealership for same reason. The mechanic is a friend of my sons. We removed back wheels on my 2500 HD 2001 4X4, He said they have a problem with ecessive corrosion on the back of the rear disk. This rust builds up around the pad over time and starts to rub. Sure enough there it was. Fix number 1 is easy, remove the disk/rotor and clean the rust away reinstall pads and off ya go.
#2 replace disk and rotor if the corrision is bad enough at 250.00 each.
Please also note there are problems with front wheel bearings on these trucks, I denied that fact until today when we lifted the truck and did a push pull thing on my drivers side front wheel....yes the bearings were out.
