This morning I had a dead battery, jumped it, and was on my way. Now when I accelerate from a stop, the car will not move until it reaches about 2500 RPM. Once I am going, seems to shift fine. Reverse from stop seems O.K. Also think it is idling lower then normal, about 750. In PARK at about 4000 RPM, car bucks. Never had this problem til today. Engine also running hotter. Please help!!

I would check the tranny fluid level first. 750 rpm at idle is perfectly normal to me.

My 2000 GLS has 3.5L motor and it comes with a rev limiter that cuts fuel whenever it goes up to around 4k rpm when gear is in P or N. It doesn't do this when driving normally though.

Thanks for the info. Car running O.K. today, but I'll check the fluid. Didn't know about the rev limiter (also have a 3.5L).
