Change wipers on '94 Park Avenue

I am writing this for my poor mom, since my father doesn't know how to change the wipers on my mom's car I will, if I get the directions.


Can anyone give me the directions on changing the wipers on a 94 buick park avenue.

I think anyone will tell you that it is much easier to just change the whole wiper arm. I simple twist of a standard screw driver will pop it off and the new one will snap onto the peg. Of course you could save all the trouble of doing this and have the guys at autozone do it for free:D

There is no real easy way because the hood is in the way and the wiper arms themselves don't give you too much flexibility...but here's the easiest(best) way. First, turn the ignition on but don't start the vehicle, then turn on the wipers. When the wipers reach the very top of their arc, turn the key -not the wiper switch- to the off position. This will leave the wipers in the 'upright' position. From here follow the instructions on the new wiper packaging(it will vary depending on the manufacturer). You will, in most cases, have to pull up on the wiper arms - actually bending them backwards slightly - to install the new wiper blades. Don't pull up on them too much as you don't want to damage the wiper arms. This, to the best of my knowledge, is the best way to change the wipers. I don't think that it's necessary to replace the whole arm unless they are otherwise damages, but it may help to REMOVE the arms from the car and install the new WIPERS on the arms w/ the ARMS off the car and then reinstall them. When you lift up on the wiper arms, there is a short tab of metal angled up on the part where the arm pushes onto the pivot. Pull that out while holding the wiper up off the glass and it will hold the wiper out for you. Locking that little piece of metal also allows you to pull straight up ont he whole arm and remove it from the pivot, take it in the garage and work on it, or replace the whole arm.

Why is everyone suggesting a wiper ARM change??? All seldomo19 needs to do is change the wiper BLADES! If you are saying to remove the wiper arm to change the blade then I can get on board with that, otherwise, what you are suggesting is just asking seldomo19 to spend more money unnecessarily. The only other thing that I can think is that maybe some of you are confused as to what is a wiper arm or that you are possibly talking about wiper blade REFILLS which are, for the most part, junk. Please clarify your statements! M.

Alright..take my advice and change "WIPER ARMS" to "WIPER REFILLS" for anyone else who might have been confused by what I said...
