I have an offbeat request. I was wondering if anyone with a similar truck to mine could help me by sending me a picture of their truck.

Here is the deal. I just got done doing a lot of work to my 1992 extended cab 4x4 dx. One of the things I had to do was replace the forward E-brake cable. It had snapped where it had attached to the rear arm assembly.

The problem is that after I replaced it, I can't pull it very much it only moves out a quarter inch or two...I am not sure if the brakes are bad (the truck had been sitting in a field for a year and a half so they could have rusted up) or if I missed a step/part in reassembling it. On the inside of the cab, right where the cable runs through the firewall, I can see the e-brake handle trying to pull the cable, but the cable rubs against the hollow shaft the handle rides in...It is already starting to shave off the cable coating. I am not sure if there needs to be another part in there somewhere...my cable just seems to come off the rod and just hang there without riding against any sort of roller (like a winch fairlead)...

If someone could shoot a quick picture of what their setup looks like under their dash...All Im lookin for is a shot of the e-brake handle on the right side of the picture frame and the firewall on the left, as I think my problem lies between those two.

Am I making any sense? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys!
