Vortec 5.7 & 92 silverado EGR or not?

I've built a 1998 vortec 5.7 useing a GM performance intake & a Holly TBI for my 92 sivlerado, the intake & heads do not have the center exhaust ports. I'm told for the EGR i'll have to run exhaust from the headers or manifolds to the intake, my question is do I need the EGR and if so what are the best headers or manifolds for this.:screwy: Thanks for any advise.
