IF your car is a 97-03 Grand Prix, you need to remove the rear seat to replace the rear deck speakers. There are two pull tabs along the carpet line that release the lower cushion. There are 4 bolts to remove the back cushion, then lift up to disengage the upper tangs. Once the seat back is out of the way, remove the two large plastic retainers that hold the carpeted shelf in place. Through the trunk, you'll see the speaker cover tabs. Push them in to disengage the speaker covers from the steel shelf, then get back in the car and slide the shelf and speaker covers out together. Now you can get to the 4 screws that hold each speaker in. Best buy carries the speaker harnesses if you don't want to have to cut your factory wiring for about $6.
