electric fan problems!!!

please help me i have a 1993 grand am gt with a 3.3 and the radiator fan just started smoking the other day so i shut off the car and decided that the motor burnt up... so i replaced the motor and it hasnt worked since, so i was wondering if their was some sort of a relay that maybe needed changed... if neone can answer then please do so i am driving without a fan... it dosnt overheat though!!

Check the fan with a known 12 volt source. If it runs, check the wiring. If not it is possible that the fan you put on may be bad too. Also if you are not overheating it is possible that the engine has not gotten hot enough for the new fan to kick on. Since the weather has been cool it may not have gotten hot enough to cause it to turn on. The ECM causes the fan to kick on so you may want to check the coolant sensor that causes the ECM to turn the fan when the temperature rises.

well the fan works when hooked to a 12 v source but it dosnt kick on... my car has a temp gauge that is working correctly and it has gotten to 220 degerees and the fan not kick on.... i have located the relay but cant figure out which one is what their are like 6 of them all located in a black box... can anyone please let me know which one is which?
