Lee model kits are comparatively cheap. does that mean the detail and quality is cheap too? i have noticed that no one here has built one of these models.

for which I luckily only paid about $5 each. Basically, the Caddys are cheap knock-offs of the Arii kits. Just like the Arii kits, they're curbside. The Lee plastic seems thicker than the Arii kits and the details (emblems, side trim, etc.) are so vague as to be useless for a replica stock model.

If you're looking to build a nice detailed model, I wouldn't recommend the Cadillacs. But, if you want a cheap starting point for a custom, they may be worth it.

As far as I know, Lee's car kits are illegal copies, created by reverse engineering the original kit. That's probably why we don't see them here very often.

Instead of making mold out of the blueprint using precision machining tool, Lee's molds are made from the kit parts. You can't make a precise mold using flexible material as a master copy, resulting in poor detail and fit.

Unless you want to torture yourself and spend hours and hours preparing parts and restoring details, Lee kits are worth no more than a good laugh.
