Its done.... for the money, this car rivals the tamiya kit in fit and finish if done carefully. No doors open on this one, but it gives you a brillant clean look when the rear bonnet is closed.. I added half opened windows with acetate and all the proper areas were treated to mocroscale twil weave CF The paint is COBRA COLORS "Giallo Modena" the best paint for exotics in my opinion.

Looks good to me. You should ahve just said it was Tami and you could get a giggle out of all the people who didn't realize it wasn't. Certainly when someone like you puts it together, it doesn't matter who made the kit. It could have been a Lee knock off kit that you used - wouldn't surprise me a bit.

Excellent job! :bigthumb:
Totally agree with you on the colour, it's a real pain that you can't get CC paints outside the US :(

Gorgeous! That kit certainly provides a worthwhile alternative to Tamiya's. Nice job on the glossy finish too, and photographing it. Giallo Modena has a kind of creamy yellow tone to it, and in all the pictures you took from start to finish you managed to capture it beautifully.

If this build convinces just one person that Revell kits are worth a second look (and not worthy of the inherent snobbery against them) then it was all worth it.
I think in many respects Dave's model looks at least as good if not better than most finished Tamiya Enzos. With this level of craftsmanship (which is what we all strive for, isn't it?) the finished appearance to my eyes trumps Tamiya's, which is often spoiled by a poor "closed-up" appearance as the doors don't always fit the body very well, especially in the area of the roof when all surfaces don't line up. I'll spend a lot of time on my Tamiya Enzo to fix that problem. The Enzo isn't the typical "shake the box and it comes out assembled" perfection typified by Tamiya's simpler kits. The engineering is spectacular; but the Enzo takes it to the extreme and I'm not convinced that all the bells and whistles really makes it a better kit for ME to enjoy building.
People who have built both Tamiya and Revell Enzos seem to also think the snobbery against the Revell kit is totally unwarranted. If you want to open it up and show it all off (which is admittedly the best way to display a 1:1 Enzo), get the Tamiya kit and have at it; spend the extra time and money and really super-detail it w/all that the aftermarket offers it. If you like your models closed so you can admire the design, save your money and time and build the Revell kit. It's really quite nice to have the choice between the two :)

Agreed .. the tamiya enzo kit is to show off the amount of detail it has... with the opening doors and great engine detail.. if u just wanna take a glance at your enzo model when u return home.. i think revell would be sufficent. If you have many friends into cars tamiya kit all the way!
cheers :grinyes:
