97 pk ave supercharger

I have noisy sc on 97 pk ave 3.8 .... removed belt and i have about quarter inch play in nose pulley, bad supercharger?

Your SC is fine. There is a plastic piece called a coupler that connects the pully itself to the business end of the SC. This part is notorious for failing. Go to xxperfrmance.com and buy 2 bottles of SC oil and a new coupler. You can install the coupler yourself and I'd recommend changing the Sc oil while you've got the system taken apart.
