running lights

ok i got another question. can't figure out the headlights still not working ripped apart my fender today looked at all my wires they were all fine nothin wrong with them. all hand current anyone have anyother suggestions why they would not be working. ok now for the next one. if i can't get my get headlights working i was going to use my running lights (parking lights) as fog lights so i can drive the car at night. how do u change the bulbs u can't get behiund the core support, and when i took off the nose i couldn't get it there either anyone know of an easy way to get those lights out thanks.

Bad ground
Burnt bulbs
Corroded plugs
How much current do you have? Did you use a meter to test for voltage?

it is a 99 yeah a used a multi meter to test it i can't remeber what the voltage was running out of it but the bulds were not burned out the plugs were not correded and the ground was fine can't figure out what the problem might be... i was thinking about juss running and toggle switch inside my car so i have the headlights but i don't understand stand beacuse i still have the parking lights.

If you have voltage and ground to the light and the connections are good, then there shouldn't be a problem. Since you have power at the plugs for the headlamps, then the switch must be good.
Measure the voltage at the plugs to the headlights. Do the high beams work? Use your meter to check the ground to the headlights. How do you know the bulbs are good? I have seen both bulbs go out at the same time on three cars. On one of them, the owner told me it was impossible for both bulbs to go at once. I told him he had power and ground going to both headlights therefore it had to be the bulbs.

umm...i am not totally sure that my bulbs are ok i mean i cheack them over pretty good and they didn't look blown out. and no my brights don't work either4

Get an old headlight bulb and wire it to the circuit you are trying to check. There may be voltage there but no amperage to work the light. If you have a old model headlight, big square one, or big round one, they work really good to check to see if there is enough current going through to make the lights work.

Then it sounds like and electrical problem. if you can i would suggest putting the car on a lift and re checking all of the wires running to the lights and check the running lights switch, if any of the wires are questionable then i would replace them, also be sure to clean all of the contacts and make sure there is no rust or oxydation. It is a lot easyer than it sounds, so dont worry.
