assuming most of the people here has thier own vehicle. why did you chose, or if you havent will you modify your car in some way? and if so what exteme do you plan to take it to? just a curious question to see if anyone one else is power hungry.

drift! so it'd be a nissan S14/15 with around 450bhp and a drift setup. that's what i'd like...

Well.. I plan on selling my car for either a 240sx or and AWD Eclipse/Talon. Since I'd most likely be getting another DSM, i'd love to bring up the horse power to about a modest 350hp to the wheels and slip in some sort of torque split for the AWD. 25% - 30% power at the front.

...

Might at well get an Evo

As of why I mod, it's basically to be different. I want to have a better car than the person next to me. As for what extreme I'll take it to...nowhere, my car is only good for looks, lol.

As for what I want in the future. I'm REALLY wanting an Evo7-9. Somewhere in the 500hp range. I want a FD Rx7 to drift and take to road courses so I'd keep that at a modest 350hp for driveability and reliability. . Then I want a white GT-R with gold mesh wheels, all kinds of mods, about 600hp. That'd be my legendary car cuz everybody would know it.

I think I'm gonna start playing the lottery...

I had a slightly modified car which I just sold today. I'm not really a mechanic and don't really like working on cars, just driving them. For my next car I decided that I will keep her stock. This way instead of spending a couple hundred dollars a month on mods and more mods and then fixing the car, I'll just spend the money on getting a much nicer car altogether. I'm not bashing anyone who does modifiy their cars, but it's simply not for me.

That's really easy to see. In my opinion, some of the most badass looking cars are stock. I kinda like the Acura Integra. I hate seeing them modified, but whenever I see a stock one roll down the street, it makes me want to buy one haha.

I just prefer cars that don't need modding.

Would consider "personalizing" details, but not much into trying to make something slow into something fast, or something that looks fast.

I do it just to be different. My truck has enough power for me at the moment so im not much into the performance mods yet. But there are a few exterior things i would like to change in the future. I just want something that no one else has, kinda unique to me.

I'm more power hungry. Looks (bodykits, spoilers, etc) aren't really my thing. I'd just get the car that is already stunning to look at and be nice. Maybe a nice set of 17 0r 18's and call it done. I like the idea of changing a set-up to squeeze more usable power out of a motor.

My Monte right now.. im not modifying because as soon as I get my Camaro running, my mom will begin using it. Although the Monte Carlo has 40 HP and 30-40 torque over the Camaro, I still wont do anything to it since my mom will bitch me out and i'd rather just spend money on the Camaro's engine and slowly repair whatever gets broken while along the way im going to buy a turbo for it.

I like to buy "weird" cars (like my Infiniti G20-- which is NOT common in southwestern Pennsylvania). Since my new car isn't "weird", I want it to be "mine"... I like when people see me drive by and KNOW that no one else has a car that is EXACTLY the same... It's not even that I like huge erector-set wings or stupid bumper kits that make my car look pregnant, but the finer details help set a car apart from the rest... some distinct wheels and a few other minor changes can make such a huge difference in appearance.

Modfying is an adiction that if you don't have watch out can wreck your financials. However my truck would be a lot more extreme if i had the money and didn't drive it everyday.

it's just an urge that everybody has inside them to go faster or to be different. people who don't modify their cars have it in them but they just don't like taking risks cos they're worried about insurance and stuff like that.

edit: i just looked at my number of posts and found out that i passed 700 already but i didn't do my celebration thing as usual. that sucks.

i do agree with no-modding a car if it looks nice and goes fast (ie late model trans ams, and formulas)< ild love to have one but i dont have the money. then i also have a zx2 which i want to make faster cuz im tired of civcs kicking my ass in it (yes its an auto). and my other money pit called "the cougar" is also a money drain. but i dont have the heart to sell or trade either of them (cuz the cougar is very very rare) and the zx2 i have some kind of attachment to (< i just want to make it go fast before i get rid of it).

It also depends on your definition of modification, some do performance mods while others do safety/cosmetic/enhancement mods.
On my vehicle, for example, it came out just before they added the stock alarm chip, daylight running lights and rear spoiler. So I added them among other modifications. While I haven't done any major engine/performance modifications except whats listed on my site, I feel modifying any vehicle whether for safety, performance or cosmetic reasons gives the vehicle a more personal touch which makes it more unique.

I'd slap on a bunch of neons on and I think I'd be ready to call it a night.
