messed up dash

Hi all, my parents have a 2000 mystique LS. i've read that there was a recall way back in 2001 or so on the car because of the dash warping and stuff... just recently the dash has warped and the defrost vent popped out and stuff... is the recall still in effect if we wanted to get it changed or would we have to pay an arm and a leg to get it done...(i would probably put it in myself if it was expensive to replace).
