no one answered my previous post so i thought that id try again this time i got the car running again but now the car will idle 2k in park and neutral (automatic tranny), for the first 3 times when you try to shift it into any gear it will just stall
turn it back on and boom 3rd time is a charm now start driving and the car will run fine for 15-20 minutes after which point the idle will go up to 2k and fall below 1k and almost stall it will just keep on that cycle as long as the car is on at this same time white smoke with no smell will start to come out of the engine compartment open it up and i can see the car pumping the smoke out through where you refill the oil which leads me to believe that its burning oil...I havent let it go until it stalls from that point on yet and prolly won't i dont want to destroy the engine so instead i just wanted to know if anyone can tell me what this is i cant figure this out and i dunt know alot about cars only what ive read so i dunt want to take it in to get fixed and get ripped off
thanks for your help:banghead:

Is this a V6?
If the "smoke" coming out the oil fill is also white, you have a blown head gasket. If you have a day or two to read all the posts you will find, do a search in this forum on "head gasket".
To prove this, buy or rent a compression gauge tester, check all cylinders and they should be the close to the same readings.
Also take a look at the spark plug tip condition.
White odorless smoke is a bad thing bad.

Borrow a compression tester to be sure.
