Alright, so I got around 4000€ by now. (+1000€ next month maybe)

The question is: what to do with it?

Options for EU-spec S13 (hatchback, CA-18DET)

I could get a nice, clean, almost flawless S13 for 2100€. 43700 miles, new engine!
Then, I could buy me a T28, FMIC, fuel pump, oil cooler, modified ECU, iridium spark plugs + I/E. And after saving a bit, a 1000€+ coilover setup could follow.
I'd had about 230 whp w/ that, running on stock internals.
I might incinerate a valve or crack the crank shaft bearings once and a while. Mucho damage, not sure if I had enough money to revive it.

next stept would cost a lot (forged pistons - 700€, block rebuilt - at least 500€, bigger injectors - 400€ etc etc)

-OR-

I could get an S13 w/ blown engine for about 500-700€.
get me engine parts, including big turbo, forged pistons, bigger injectors etc) and rebuilt it, resulting in about 300-320 whp.
STABLE. lots of heavy duty parts.

-BUT-
I don't know if the second option would be that much faster. 100 whp more, but no money for suspension. or good tyres.
Would be hella fun though. Everybody dreams of this... shopping for 5 grand, getting all those anodized shiny parts and rebuild it mostly by yourself.

So, which one would you choose? The moderate-nice overall? The l33t rebuilt powerhouse?

i'd say option #1.. only because the package (ca plus body) is already put together.. like you said, you could upgrade the turbo and IC and whatever.. consider total costs including suspension

I'd go with option 1 cuz you can make a well rounded car

and i'm not sure but I don't think they want you bumping threads on af
but then again they may not care

Well I think I'll see how much power I really "need".

I do not plan to do some Slalom yet, neither do I want a dyno queen or dragster.

So 220 whp is probably enough. Plus I'd buy shiny rims.

I cant decide between 17" and 18".
18" + coilovers wouldn't be too comfortable

I like 17's but I'm cheap and don't want to spend 1.2k on rims so I'm getting some old school 15's when I find em lol.

nothing wrong about 15"s, but you won't find nice ones here in germany.

I'll have to import Work or 5Zigen rims. Not enough money for Volks :)

option 1

15 rimz are bad... min 16... 15 have toooooo much wall flex (good for drag...)

With 15s you need to run 205/50, cause 205/60 and 205/55 are weak shit.

I was prolly gonna run 205-50-15 but I dunno its kinda far off in the future maybe i'll get lucky and find some 16's or 17's. I like the SSR Reverse Mesh but i've only found one set used as 16's the rest are 15's or they are trashed.

no I don't post at nico, the image in my sig is a sileighty that was on ebay a while ago.

the car scene in germany is so ridiculous right... you will ONLY find rims like this:

or this:

or this

I mean, how fucked up is that?
And if you want them in 17" or 18" (which is rarely available) you'd pay like up to 280$ a rim.

The only acceptable rims here are BBS and OZ rims. And they cost more than 19" volks.

puh.
