hi everyone, i have some wierd problems with my 99' v6 cougar. all the time i press my brakes when coming to a red light, my right tire starts to wiggle or shake in a way. i have changed a piece they told me, but i forgot the name, i know it was a two piece, an inner and outer part to the right wheel. but that didnt work, and i also changed my struts. some guy told me that i needed an alignment, yes my car does pull me to the right, but will an alignment fix the problem,? i really dont think so.....can someone help me, or have any suggestion wat this can be?

if your ONLY problem is it pulling to the right that very well could be an alignment, how new are your tires?? my wifes cougar recently had a similar problem, she had all of your symptoms, her car pulled to the left though, and pulled even harder when applying the brake, plus her steering wheel rapidly moved back and forth (just slightly) when driving at town speeds and you could kinda feel the car shaking from it, what happened was her tire (tires that came with the car in 99) were so bad that one of the steel belts in it broke and formed a lump on the tread, when she went to get her tires replaced it turns out both of front tires had lumps in them due to that, 2 new front tires and it drives like new

anytime struts or springs are changed, an alignment is mandatory.

thanx alot both for help,.
i jus recently bought the car like a month ago, it didnt have this effect, it just started,..after i read your reply i went to my car and took a look at the tires, i noticed there were perrelli400 all the round, and looked like they were in good shape, but i guess i just cant judge it like that, as soon as possible imma change all tires and also get a wheel alignment. thanx for the help.

Just switch your tires front to rear. That should tell you if it's your tires or not. But like they said you should still get an alignment if you changed your inner and outer tie rods and your strut.
