I have a 1997 nissan maxima and when it is cold outside (early morning) it takes three or four cranks to get the engine to stay on. the first coulpe of times i turn it on, it starts up and seconds later it dies out. i dont know if it is my choke, and if it is, what about the choke. or is it something else???
response needed and much appreciated. Thanks

First off, your car does not have a choke, It is fuel injected, I don't mean to sound harsh, but if you did not know this how were you planning on fixing it?

May be your fuel pump; Try letting the fuel pump prime before starting the car. Turn the key to Acc and wait till you hear the fuel pump stop (like a humming sound) give it about 10 seconds..and then start it. Dirty fuel filter may also be the problem.
