Throttle Body Width?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone would know what the width is of a Throttle Body of a 2200SFI 1998 cavalier RS, auto-trans? About 2 weeks ago I was expecting a short ram intake kit but the company I bought it from said there was technical difficulties, so he refunded me. I decided I may just try building my own intake, so I was wondering what kind of piping I should use, and what width the pipes should be. I have seen some people use either the common mandrel bent tubing, and also PVC piping. I have a K&N filter for my car, now I just need to build the piping, and cut in a custom hole for the IAT sensor.

just stick a cone filter on the end of the S tube and call it a day, unless you really want to have a shiny piece of metal. . .
