My 99 GS-T won't start, I was at the gas station, and I put gas in it, and it just wont start, I think it's an anti theft problem. Can anyone help me please?

My friend and I push started it, and it runs now, but when ever i push the clutch in all the way, the RPMs seem to drop and the engine wants to die. Im thinking it might be a bad starter, or I mabey it wsa because my postive hookup to the battery was loose. What ever it was, I'm getting it fixed, my car is at Mentor Mitsubishi right now. What do you guys think? Thank you for relocating my thread $hpyder

Honstly I don't know anything about electrical stuff. Yeah Mentor Mitsubishi is a dealership, i kind know some people there. I bought the car with a remote starter, maybe that might part of the problem?

k, this is actualy my car, thanx sam for posting for, my brother helped me out while i was stuck @ the gas station....

** i have a 99 GST Spyder 5-speed w/ and remote starter, i do not need to press down the clutch to start my car**
anyways, here is the story:
yesterday, i parked to get gas "last gear was reverse", waited my 30 sec for the turbo to cool down, turnd the car off, opend the gas tank cover, put the premium gas in, locked my car, went inside the gas station, payed for the gas, came back to my car, unlocked it, got in, turnd the key all the way, the car didnt start. the dash lights were on "oil, check engine, srs, e-brake etc..", cd player was on....i was like WTF - i tried the remote autostart, nothing.

i get absolutely no noise form under the hood!

my friend Kyle came over, and looked at it, he looked at the remote starter, pressed the override button, and nothing "but their is a lil red light on their, that seems to go off "blink" when i unlock and lock the car.

that didnt do nothing, so we took off the positive battery plug, and waited 10 min, and put it back on. "it seemd kind of loose after we put it back on, but we got it holding ok!

tried, same thing

later on, we tried to push start it twice, but it didnt work, we didnt have enough speed!!, so we backed it up to a longer strech, but i decided to try and start it, and it worked!!!!!!!, the car was running fine...

i got in it, drove it to the dealership "Mentor Mitsubishi".

while i was drive i notices this after i went over the train tracks "i say the train tracks because i was stopped at a light befor them, rpms were fine.

if i take my foot off the clutch, it would normaly go down, but once it goes to like 800 it keeps on going down 500, and then it was like 300 and then i saw my dash lights go on, so i pressed the clutch in and gave it gas, and i had to keep on doing the till i soped, my lights were on, cd player.

when i parked the car, i didnt let it die by it self even though it wanted to, when it got to like 700-600 rpm, i turnd it off right away, my lights were on? my windows still worked? cd player.......i dunno

i got out, locked it with the remote, it locked

i noticed on my positive battery connector, the connectors the make contact w/ the ring that goes on the battery are all like yellow and rusted out..

i tried my car today, and all i get is a lil noise like a wining noise, like when u hold a lil DC motor thing and not let it turn, u know that high pitch noise, its not realy high.. i dont know, but thats were im at.

i still have my other eclipse, my 96 gst spyder that was in an accident, i was wondering if it is the starter can i get it off my old car?

thanx for reading

i think i diagnosed my own problem.

i just rememberd that last week or two, i pressed the autostart button the remote, the car attempted to start, it tried to start atleast but it didnt, i made some noise though, after 10 seconds, it tried to start again, and it worked, i think the second attempt is part of the remote starter programing or something.

if the car is running, and i unplug the battery, would it still run?
if it still runs with the battery unpluged, then is that why it wanted to die when it gets to the low rpms, cus the alternator is making enough charge or make the 12 or 14 volts that the car needs to run.

**back when the car was running properly - usualy when the car gets to the lower rpms, the speedometer and tachometer lights and all the other lights dim a lil, u give it a bit of gas and it gets brighter**

maybe i have a bad starter, and my car wanted to stall when at low rpms becuase of the bad connectors to the battery?

k, my frind came over and we tried to push start it again, it worked, i let it sit still running, for like 2 min, and then i got in it and drove it, drove fine, then i let it sit still again, and i got back in it, tested it to see if everything is ok, i took it up to 5k in first, the 5k in second, then after that.....if i press the clutch the rpms started going lower than 500, and it wanted to stall after that, so i had to keep giving it gas, and at the end i had to let it die....

anyways, is that my starter or battery or alternator?...

btw... the car feels diffrent?

k, i took my car to the dealer today, and they said that the starter is bad, the guy tapped the starter while some one was in the car turning the key over and holding the clutch, and then it started, he said he let it run for about 20 min, every thing was fine, the battery showed 14v, so it was being charged!
anyways their going to replace my starter but they want like $240.00 for a new one and a $160.00 to install it, so 400.00, that was my cost of repair, im gonna have them do my timing belt too since the car has 100k miles, and the timing belt was never changed, or any of the belts!!!!!their also going to flush my transmition too..oil change..
what kind of tanny fluid should i get?
what kind of oil should i put in?

anyways
they replaced my front control arms and the lower ball joints!! its a manufacturer recall.

ill keep on posting on what happens next!

sounds like dealership rapeage.

http://rep.racepages.com/parts/racepages/wizard.jsp?year=1998&make=MI&model=ECL-T-002&category=F&part=Starter&dp=true&showdc=true#top

brand new NSA Starter, $140 with 2 year warrenty. FREE shipping Find a buddy to install it, not hard. i have a ton of friends that could do it. slip them $40, boom $180 problem fixed. much better than $400

If you go to the dealership everytime your GS-T gives you shit you will go broke. Trust me, been there done that. Hell i paid $1000 to replace my clutch. and the hooked up a English stanard threaded clutch line to the slave. boom that poped out. cost me more money. and it took a fucking month to do... FYI Mitsu is the worst rated for dealership service satisfaction.
