Cleaning glass?

Hey everyone, I was wondering the best way to clean up car glass.

I'm not sure if a Windex type cleaner is the best since it has alot of ammonia...

Is rubbing alcohol a good choice? I would just put it in a spray bottle and mist it real nice, then use a rag to wipe it off. Afterwords I'm going to wipe it down with RainX, but I need to know what is a good cleaner first.

If anyone knows a good way to do this let me know!

i've just always used windex and newspaper. it works for me inside and out.

if you have tinted windows, don't use harsh cleaners (or find ones that can be used with titned windows)--it will damage the tint. just a small dab of dish soap in a bottle of water will work well.

the newpaper trick won't leave streaks that you will see on the inside on a cold evening when the windows fog up.

personally i would use invisible glass made by stoner and use a microfiber to wipe off. this is what works best for me.

Doesn't the newspaper trick leave behind some of the black ink? I would think that it would but I have never tried it

DriwashnGuard works for me, its fantastic. You use it for your whole car, as well as your windows. No water needed, and no scratches!

I've never experienced that and I've been using newspapers for that for a long time. I use the Stoners and newspaper.

Newspaper and invisible glass is awsome, something else that works awsome on exterior glass and mirrors is chrome polish and a micropolish cloth i think it might be better than invisible glass then again i dont know.

I successfully use 20/20 (Eagle One ?!) with paper towels and apply RainX afterwards. Nothing so far worked better for me and I got lots of glass..lol

Being in the detail business, I found that anything works great as long as you use a high quality MF towel. I use water in a spray bottle and it gets that glass as spotless as Stoners

I was just reading in the Autopia e-book thing that you can use your old clay bar on windows and that should work pretty well. It makes sence to me and I'll be giving it a go later this spring.

Yep. A lot of times I just use a little water and a clean microfiber towel. Now if I have a lot of bugs on the windshield, I use 0000 steelwool.

Stoner glass cleaner works pretty good, but so does windex. The best is any foaming glass cleaner as they will not leave swirls or smears. Microfibre towels work great, I have seen professionals using newspaper - they say it gives glass the best shine possible.

I use a product made by bissell. but I think anything would work. Terry towels are good. Just make sure to turn the towel over or replace the towel often....less streaks!

A claybar works great if you have a lot of bugs and water spots etc. There is a company called Shoguard that has the best window cleaner i've ever used. No streaks, no films, no haze, nothing.
