Hey everyone,
When I try to start the car the engine does turn over and fires on one cylinder then stops. I checked the pressure relief valve at the injectors to make sure I am getting fuel into the injectors. I changed the spark plugs and wires. So i'm at a lost on why the car won't run. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Edit: Its a 3.4L engine and auto.

Ignition and fuel would be the best starting point. Although fuel is coming out the Schrader valve when pressed it doesn't mean the fuel pressure is correct. Possibility of fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator or fuel filter. So the fuel pressure should be checked with an automotive fuel pressure gauge.
Also pull one spark plug and check for spark.

My security light comes on when this happens, and has to be reset--how 'bout yours? At that point, the 'puter shuts down the fuel system, until 'puter is reset.
Search this forum for all who have starting problems, and read responses.
Check owners manual, section two and page #?? (check index) for security light/passlock problems.

My alero was doing the same thing, and when it was really cold outside....My oil sending unit was bad....if the oil pressure reads low then it shuts power off to the fuel pump is what my mechanic told me (hes my best friend also so i know he s telling me the truth) only cost me $28 for parts and he put it in for free...dunno what a shop would charge.
my alero also has the 3.8L....
