light bar wiring question

Just one question: Is there an accepted, standard way of routing the wiring harness for a roof-mounted lightbar, into the vehicle? I would really prefer to not drill any holes through the painted sheet metal. Suggestions? And, OFFROADX, just an FYI: I did search the forum prior to asking the question! hehe.

I don't have lights on the roof, but I do have cables for my rooftop FRS antenna and CB, I just shut them in the rear doors and zip-tie them to the center roof rack post.
I also have a thin wire for my outside temp sensor probe that runs from under the dash, out the driver's door near the hinge, up under the weatherstrip to the cowl, then under the rubber at the edge of the windshield to the roof. It runs over the sheet metal for a couple of inches before going into the rain channel under the front roof rack base. If your wires aren't that thick, that could be an option.

I did the same thing.. I run the powered wired through the firewall, out near the front passenger door hinge, along the windshield's weatherstripping and over a couple inches of sheetmetal, zip tying it to the rack. On the other side, I run the combined ground wire to driver's side, down the windshield weatherstripping, through the gap in the driver's side door hinge and back into the engine compartment, grounding it to the frame. It took a little time to do this, but it keeps a clean look and limits the exposed wires to just a small area - which I may cover somehow to protect them from possible damage.

Under the weatherstip. If you lay the wires flat you can run 4 side by side easy. Over the sheetmetal and then zip tied between the cargo-basket and the rack tubing.
