I am driving a 96 outback. I am having some problems. It would not start this morning. After three tries it started and now the hazard lights and interior lights are blinking even when the ignition is turned off. I have to disconnect the battery to get it to stop. The battery is just one year old. Also, my brakes were redone one month ago. They are squeaking badly. They did not squeak before they were fixed. When I am driving around 60mph the car sometimes vibrates. I have even stopped to see if I have a flat. It doesn't do this all of the time. It will vibrate a while and then stop.
This is actually my mom....I told her AF was a good place to go to find some answers. I hope you Subaru guys can hold your ground!

Well Mrs. MechanisM :D
When you tried to start it, did it make a clicking sound when you turned the key? If it did, this is the solinoid clicking which means there is a problem with the starter. Now I don't have a clue why your hazards and interiors were blinking, thats almost the strangest thing I've ever heard :D Take it to a shop and have them hook it up to the computer
Also, when your brakes were done, what did they do? Did they just change pads and turn roters? Or did they machine the roters and everything... If they just replaced pads, have them machine your roters.
Vibrations, is it a vibration or a shimmy? Not sure what this is, but an alignment couldn't hurt :D

Make sure your hazards are off. They work with the ignition off! The switch is on top of the steering wheel column I think.
