I am working on my S2000 kit which I sprayed with several coats of Tamiya Chrome Yellow. I plan on using Tamiya`s clear coat as well, but was told you have to be very careful using it over top of Tamiya`s other colors because of the possibility of cracking. My question is how long should I wait before applying the clear coat? Should I use it within half an hour of the last coat of yellow? Should I leave the body cure for a week or two before putting the clear coat on? Anyone have experience with this?

i'm relatively new to modelling, but of the three that i have used tamiya clear over tamiya spray paint, i waited 24 hours after laying down the final coat of spray paint to start laying on the clear. i've only been making models for about five months now, but within that timeframe no cracks have appeared, maybe some will later on or maybe not, who knows? but for the time being it seems to be just fine. hope this helps a little. B.
