2001 sunfire

Hi I'm looking to buy a 2001 sunfire SE with a 5 spd. Its got 53k miles on it now. I don't have too much knowledge on the sunfire so I was just wondering what common problems they have and if you know of any tips on what to look for when checking out the car to see if its in good order. I'm very knowledgeable on other models just not the sunfire.

My 2001 SE is still running strong at 80000 miles. Only problems have been excessive brake wear (may not be quite as much of an issue with a manual trans) and I had to get the valve cover gasket repalced. If you notice an oil residue around the valve cover you should replace it--even at a dealership it should be less than $100 w/labor.

Front brake rotors are common to be replaced,they warp up way to quick.
