I think I have to do the diode on the relay thing instead of grounding out the yellow wire:2cents:

don't know about your specific year model, but on my 92 they make a relay wiring kit for this. I think it was painless wiring. Look on the summit web page. head-light relay kit.

06... i'm trying to figure out exactly which diodes I need from RadioShack and I'm having a hard time finding a definitive answer (Part #, amperage and voltage). I'm guessing these are just plain ol' silicon diodes?
Also, I'm going to solder the diode directly to the #85 post on the relay? How is this accomplished so that you have no problems getting the relay back in? Thanks!

I've got 200V 1A diodes, catalog number 276-1102
Solder it as close to the relay as possible so the blade (post) can slide into its socket properly

As far as the relay numbers... out of the 2 (hi beam, lo beam) one was number 8866 and the other was 8567. I was a dumbass and just pulled them out without checking the numbers on them. Does it matter which is which, as long as the pin numbers are correct? Could someone check to see which is which in their silvy? Thanks.

Awesome...thanks for checking. I'm just working on the 6 light mod (lows, highs and fogs). I don't really have the desire to have my DRLs on with the rest of the lights, plus I can imagine the type of current it takes to power all of those things and that, along with my stereo, are probally going to be drawing pretty heavily on my alternator. Therefore, I figure I'll give my electrical system a little bit of a break by not having to route power to the DRLs too!
I'm running Silverstars all the way around, too. Can't wait to see the difference once I get this taken care of.
