Central Locking

I jump from instrument cluster to door locks. I had issues earlier with my central locking but have resolved that except that I cannot just lock the doors with my drivers door lock, I must deadbolt them from the drivers door (does not lock at 45 degree turn, only at 90 degrres). I can lock fine from passenger door or trunk, I have read the E30 DIY fixes but nothing seems to cover what I am experiencing (at least I can lock the doors from drivers side). Any suggestions and she is a 1990 325ic.

I've seen similar problems with central locking. The driver's side door would lock with a turn of the key, but the passenger door would click but not actually lock. I never did get any of them fixed to offer suggestions. Just sympathizing with you.

I have had two owners of E30 vehicles (on Roadfly board) tell me that this is the symptom of a drivers door lock cylinder going bad and aneed to rekey. You can buy a rekey kit for your door lock cylinder from a dealer for about $43.00. I was also told not to lock the car from divers door (use trunk or passenger door) until I rekey the drivers door lock cylinder or I might end up with a deadbolted car and that cannot be unlocked from any door except drivers.
